Peace with Syria

According to reports Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has delivered a proposal to President Assad of Syria that could see Israel return the Golan Heights over a gradual process over 15 years, with an agreement worked out within one year. This is according to reports from a Kuwaiti newspaper that compares the similar deals made with Palestinians. The reports suggest that there will further developments within the next two months. according to the report, Netanyahu passed proposed plans to Assad via special US envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell. After their meeting in Damascus, Assad said that achieving in peace was important for Syria and they wanted the US to step up pressure to help make it a reality.
