Paul Butters - Seashore

On sunny sand I rest my head
Beside the clear blue sea,
Which swells and heaves,
Yet gently laps a song,
As breakers surf upon the shore,
To ripple all along the bay,
A sweeping arc that softly Ends,
Where water kisses Day.

I must depart from this sweet cove,
Away from palm-lined shore,
Away from Love here interwove,
Though not for ever more!
For I shall fly to you again,
Beside this lovely sea;
As then the battle will be Won,
And then I shall be Free!
