Patti Masterman - The Lover
1 Views • Jun 16, 2014
Description
That reminded him, he was a man.
And the delicate shape of her little mouth
Made him look back again and again.
He felt that she needed a rescuer;
She needed to be loved for her self-
Not to be noticed just once in a while,
And then set back high on a shelf.
He opened the door and went inside,
And eloquently plead his case.
His listeners just laughed at his words
And alternately seemed, amazed.
He finally left, embarrassed and sad,
That no one seemed to hear.
In fact, he could almost swear
They thought he was so queer.
At midnight he returned to the scene,
Slipped gloves on, and mask, and then
He broke the glass, and rescued his lady,
To spend the rest of her days with him.
She was stiff and she was cold;
But he knew time was on his side-
He knew if he just loved enough
This mannequin would be his bride.
