Patrick Villareal - Cold War

The days go by as both sides are well aware
Anger fuming and plans brewing, their situation is beyond repair
The boys intensively await a move as their intellects collide
Beginning their hatred for one another, before the chains of war are untied
Each with their own goal and vision to how this conflict ends
Each forgetting what they were to each other, that they were once friends
More than friends, brothers in fact, brothers ready to throw everything away
They fail to realize that soon, no one will take the day
No one will rise, no one will celebrate their needed war
Eventually leaving them to wonder, was it all worth fighting for?
It matters little now as a move is made, like moving up a brigade
Breaking those fragile and rusty chains, their resolves cannot be swayed
