Patrick O'Reilly - The Modern World
1 Views • Jun 13, 2014
Description
The fifteenth floor,
Cold and sterile against her withered cheek
Days turned to weeks
Weeks turned to months
Seasons come and go
The walls were too thick
Doors too hard bound
Hearts chained tight like wild hounds
People come prisoner without leaving the home
And she went unnoticed
Though many eyes and ears could tell
No footstep on the stair
No smile to the doorman in the morning
‘Til when they finally did find her
She wasn’t a body anymore
She was just a corpse
On the fifteenth floor
