Patrick O'Reilly - Poor Paddy

Poor Paddy's still thirsty and want's one more drink
I worry that he'll end up back in the clink
That banjo he's plucking is missing a string
Sometimes he don't care or notice a thing
Poor, poor Paddy

Poor Paddy is working away in the sands
And says he has lots of spare time on his hands
And he says he's got no one to help him sing a song
It must be some lonely alone upalong
Poor, poor Paddy

Me and poor Paddy broke up a glass frame
And made off with a picture of Queen Whatsername
Rolled up and hidden in his banjo case
We were laughing our heads off as we ran from the place
Poor, poor Paddy

Paddy pulls down good bills in the bar where he sings
He's paying his rent and his banjo got strings
I hope he stays free, and I hope he keeps clean
I hope Paddy still has that picture of the queen
Poor, poor Paddy
