Day after day it is all seeming to be the same
The music plays but…
its haunting melody had been heard many times
The sun rises and sets
The moon taunts me

A voice seems to whisper I will be here again
And so shall you
Staring at the midnight blue
You and I bound together forever
Damned to nature’s grasp

Shadows of the night and I
Both wandering aimlessly about
Staring at the same moon that taunts us er’ night
We carry the chains of the past
Tight, permanently imbedded into what once was our flesh

Prison faces, no uplifting sounds
The cries are silent
For to admit defeat would bring more weakness
Walk with me shadows of the night
Prepare yourself for lonely tears that are never heard
