Oh for the longing that controls my soul if it could but grow wings and fly
Free me, I say

From the song of love that beckons my heart
The call that harkens unto the moon’s tears or of the dying light of a fading star
Free me, I say

If only for the day and bring back on the morrow
Least I should know but one day of freedom
To breath a breathe without a pull upon my heart

Free me, I say

Loose me from the chains that sink endlessly in a sea of dreams
Allow me to fade like the dew upon the heather
Turn me to stone so I may feel no more…..
Free me…. I say
