And whyever not?
She could do a lot worse

She could write clever poems
Intended to sound
Philosophically deep
Obscurely profound

Or pen tragic poems
Of love, loss and woe
Tearfully epic
Dreadfully slow

Or criticise men
Just for having a willy
For not being perfect
And sometimes quite silly

But dear Wendy Cope
Writes humorous verse
Which is quite a relief
It could be so much worse
