Passengers recall the anxious moments before their Boeing 767's emergency landing in Warsaw.
SOUNDBITE: LOT passenger Hubert Waz saying (Polish):
"There was a lot of fear. Women were experiencing it more. There were tears, there were tears."
The LOT airlines flight which originated in New York was having problems with its landing gear and circled the airport for nearly an hour before making its risky descent.
SOUNDBITE: LOT passenger Krzysztof Rozycki saying:
"It's very surprising. I thought it would feel like we were hitting the ground violently, but then we touched down on and that was it."
Live television footage showed the Boeing craft landing on its belly, with a few sparks flying as it hit the runway covered with flame retardant foam. The landing was so smooth, in fact, that many assumed the landing gear had opened.
