Pankajam Kottarath - Seven Wonders

Wonders of the world,
neither those built by hand
nor bought by man, more precious
than the historic ones; as I can

see around things that elevate my spirits,
glory too much to bear, as that of the Canyon by the Colorado;

hear my much loved songs
and bury grief like the secrets in the ancient Pyramids;

feel the tender palms of my new born
and know how blessed I am, godsend from the Basilica;

laugh to my mind’s contentment
that grants me longevity as the Great Wall;

taste palatable dishes,
and drown my desires to the depths of the Panama;

touch and be touched, the swelling care and affection,
make me scale the Empire State;

above all, love you more than I love me
like Mumtaj Mahal by the legendary king.
