Painting By Numbers are an indie-rock four-piece based in Cork in the south of Ireland. Formed in March 2005 their lineup includes Ronan McCann (vocals/guitar), David Nelligan(guitar), Darragh Enright (drums), and Diarmuid Galvin (bass). In late 2005 they released their first E.P which was selected as the Hot Press, First Cuts "Pick of the fortnight" (thursday 18th May 2006). Other favourable reviews have drawn comparisons to the likes of R.E.M., The Posies, Throwing Muses, Sugar, The Unbelievable Truth, and Crowded House. In the last year they have perfomed several well received shows nationwide in such high profile venues as Cyprus Avenue (Cork), The Hub (Dublin), Roisin Dubh's (Galway), Voodoo Lounge (Dublin), The Spirit Store (Dundalk), Cruiscin Lan (Cork), and An Brog (Cork). They have also played support to up and coming Dublin acts Delorentos and Boss Volenti. They have recently completely their second e.p. which will be ready for release before the Summer, and plans are in place for a nationwide tour to promote it. Their eponymously titled debut is available from Plugd Records, Washington st, Cork and at gigs nationwide! .
