We spent the evening walking on the main street and dinner was yet another round of Wazwan. The next morning we left for Gulmarg which would be a good 4 hour drive, bypassing Srinagar city on the way. Enroute we stopped at the ancient sun temple ruins at Awantipur and bought some saffron right from the source in Pampore. Incidentally Pampore in Kashmir is one of the two places in the world where saffron is grown, the other being Iran.
