Outcry over guns
Description
Outcry over guns in Washington, DC.
Demonstrators take to the streets of the U.S. Capitol in front of the National Riffle Association.
They are calling for gun control -- days after 20 children and six adults were gunned down in a school massacre.
White House spokesman Jay Carney says there are no easy answers.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY JAY CARNEY SAYING:
"It is a complex problem that will require a complex solution."
In New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg says enough.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) NEW YORK MAYOR MICHAEL BLOOMBERG SAYING:
"Perhaps this slaughter of innocents at Sandy Hook Elementary School will at long last be enough. Millions of Americans hope that's true, but it's not enough for us to hope, we have to speak up."
As mourners remember the victims, Democratic lawmakers are expected to introduce legislation to ban assault weapons.
U.S. lawmakers have not approved a major new gun law since 1994.
Opinion polls have found Americans to be divided on the issue even after other high-profile shooting incidents.
