Outcry in Yemen
Description
The protesters are up in arms over a power transfer deal signed last month, which gave Saleh immunity from prosecution if he steps down.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) PROTESTERS MOHAMED ALI, SAYING:
"We demand the prosecution of president (Saleh) and his aids, and the building of a new Yemen."
According to the pact brokered by Yemen's wealthy Gulf Arab neighbors Saleh will hand power to his deputy. Under the deal, Saleh's party will divide cabinet posts with opposition parties.
Uprisings in the Middle East so far have toppled the leaders of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.
