Out on the streets in Syria

Amateur video out of Syria shows ongoing protests across the country.

Video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters shows people taking to the streets in Rastan -- just outside of Homs.

The demonstrations come as a suicide bomber killed at least nine people in Damascus.

More footage shows demonstrators offering their support to the rebel led Syrian Free Army.

The United Nations says more than 9,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began more than a year ago.

The government says ,more than 2,600 members of its security forces have been killed.

In Idlib demonstrators spell out their complaints. The hold signs saying oppression, corruption and demolition.

They turn their signs over that now read "Towards a modern society that is more developed and sensible."
