Our Favorite Killer Clowns

Now that ‘It’ has given us a new incarnation of Penywise, let’s see how he stacks up to some of Kya’s favorite killer clowns.

 

The fear of clowns is a very real phenomenon, but some folks just can’t get enough of those killer clowns. Hands down, the most iconic killer clown of all time has to be the Joker. Batman always has his full with Gotham’s killer clown, and over the many incarnations of the Joker, he’s struck terror into the hearts of comic fans everywhere. Whether it’s a Heath Ledger Joker, Jared Leto Joker, or the classic Mark Hamill Joker, the killer clown prince of crime is always a force to be reckoned with.

 

Now, the Killer Klowns from Outer Space might not have the same level of cultural saturation as Mister J., but they’re still high on our list of favorites. They’re technically aliens, not killer clowns, but the Killer Klowns from Outer Space have all the trappings of terrifying circus clowns, and they take no prisoners just like Captain Spaulding, The Devil’s Rejects clown and House of 1,000 Corpses clown. He’s definitely defensive about his preferred line of work, but that’s not a knock on Captain Spaulding. Clown pride is something Captain Spaulding takes seriously, and along with the rest of the Firefly family he’s wreaked havoc on plenty of unsuspecting victims.
