Orlando De Los Santos - Question?

You know that feeling of being unable to write?
To be clueless and out of sight
It can make your stomach knot and your throat
Squeeze shut with fright

It leaves me breathless
Makes me restless
And fills me with claustrophobia
Being unable to write

I have to squeeze every verse out of my empty heart
Like a man tilting his water poach, empty and without water
It makes me wither away
Like land being swallowed by the sea
I have to fish it out like a fisher man in the sea fishing for his daily meal of protein
False hope in a believe that I can retrieve
My creativity
I’m nothing without it like earth without gravity
Or like a man without a dick
It is my manhood
My pride
To be able to write

Without poetry, I would be an alcoholic, gangbanger
Statistic
It saved me! Poetry is my religion
In a region held by stereotypes and politicians

You know that feeling of being unable to write?
Hopefully I never experience it
Not even for a second
So, don’t ask me that question!
