If i disappear tomorrow
another would take my place
if i died suddenly
any soul with a voice could carry my message
and if i quit and walked away
someone would replace me
if i decided that i wasnt strong enough
almost anyone could protect my friends
but if i vanish today would you miss me my love?
or would someone fill the void in your heart?
because if somone could my love
if someone could make happier
let me step aside
let me disappear once and or all
let someone elsetake my place
and bear the burdens i carry now
if someone can take my place for you
let me go away
and let me dsappear to oblivion
let me nestle down at the truck stop
somewhere at the edge of nowhere
here in the corner i will sit
WITH MY HAT COVERING MY FACE
HIDING, SULKING BEING REPLACED
IF I AM TRULY EXPENDABLE
THEN LET ME GATHER
BECAUSE I GROW WEARY OF FRIGHT
I GROW TIRED OF PRESSING ON
I'D RATHER BLOW OUT THE GRACE AND APPLAUSE
THEN LIVE A LIE DOING A MANS WORK
BUT IF YOU WOULD MISS ME
EVEN THOUGH FOR ONE MOMENT ON A DISTANT DAY
THEN I WONT BUDGE
I WONT GIVE
BECAUSE SOME THINGS ARE WORTH FIGHTING FOR
SOME THINGS ARE WORTH DYING FOR
AND IF LOVE IS NOT SUCH A THING
THEN LIFE ITSELF THATS A LIE
AND AM I JUST A PIECE OF A LARGER PUZZLE
THAT SPANS TO THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE?
SO IF YOU NEED ME AS MUCH AS YOU SAY
then ill be here
by your side
never movng
always fighting
waiting until i do become replaceable
with everything in one hand
and my route to nowhere mapped
on a napkin at the back of my head
i love you so much
i am not going to let you slip through my fingers
not without a fight
