"Only for Israel"

Israeli songwriter and pianist Yedida Freilich's song "Only for Israel" has received over 1.2 million hits on YouTube. Freilich, 22, a resident of Neveh Daniel in Gush Etzion is a student at Jerusalem's Academy of Music and Dance. The song which was written last year together with her father and brother, is more poignant than ever today as the United Nations General Assembly gathers to discuss the unilateral Palestinian statehood bid. Singing in English and Hebrew, Yedida emphasizes the double standards the international community applies to Israel. In the song she outlines the 2005 disengagement from Gaza, the suicide bombs and rockets fired at Israel, the Gaza flotilla boats seeking to break the Israeli imposed blockade, and the need for Israel to defend itself. "The world cares nothing about Jewish blood..." she sings.
