ONLINE REACTIONS TO COPENHAGEN ATTACKS
 
Two shootings took place in Copenhagen on Saturday February 14, a little over a month after the terrorist attacks that rocked Paris. The suspected gunman behind the deadly attacks at a cultural centre and outside a synagogue in the Danish capital was reportedly shot dead Sunday morning by police. Web users the world over have been commenting on the tragic events.
 
Many have taken to social networks sharing their thoughts and feelings on the Copenhagen attacks. The #IAmDanish hashtag has started trending with web users voicing solidarity with the people of Denmark and offering their condolences to the family and friends of those killed in the shootings.
Political leaders from across the globe have condemned the attacks in Copenhagen, posting on Twitter. The head of the French government Manuel Valls, the British Prime Minister David Cameron, his Canadian and Spanish counterparts Stephen Harper and Mariano Rajoy, and also Edgars Rinkevics, Latvia`s Minister for Foreign Affairs amongst others have taken to the microblogging site to denounce the barbarity of the shootings and voice their support for the Danish authorities.
But while it’s a time for contemplation and condolences online, some are reaching out to terrorists and their supporters’ directly. Warning them, in messages like these ones, they will never succeed in bringing European democracies to their knees …
