The Internet addiction is Categorized by experts as too much dependence on technology such as smartphones, computer, internet, social media, online gaming, etc. It is also difficult to detect internet addiction as it does not harm you in the same way as that smoking or drinking does and thus It hardly gets noticed and thus this issue is underreported or not acknowledged properly.
Similar to other addictions, those who suffer from Internet addiction use the virtual fantasy world to connect with real people through the Internet, as a substitution for real-life human connection, which they are not able to achieve normally.
This problem is more severe in the school and college students as they tend to spend a large amount of their time on the Internet rather than interacting with family and friends
Nowadays the access to Internet online and gaming is getting cheaper day by day and it is pretty much easy to get caught on to the new window of entertainment.
Unlike other de-addiction such as alcohol and tobacco de-addiction, there are no medicines or replacement therapy available for Internet de-addiction. Also, the therapy which is available for
Internet de-addiction has a very low success rate as compared to the other forms of de-addiction programmers.

Always staying On-line longer than originally intended to do so and thus not giving sufficient time to the things that are utmost important
Always preoccupied with the Internet in the mind. Thinking about the previous online activities or anticipating about the next online session in advance
Using the Internet in a way so as to find a way to escape from the problems or to relieve from a pretty bad mood. (e.g. Feelings of hopelessness, Guilt, Anxiety, and Depression.
