One man's prayer for Mandela
Description
Well-wishers continued to flock to the Pretoria hospital on Sunday where former president Nelson Mandela has been treated for the past 23 days.
The wall outside the hospital has been adorned with messages to South Africa's first black president, seen by many, including visiting U.S. President Barack Obama who will visit Mandela's former cell on Robben Island today, as a hero.
(SOUNDBITE (English) LOCAL RESIDENT, BILLY SIGUDLA, SAYING:
"Last night I was here, as I was here I prayed for some time, and as I prayed I could feel that Mandela is still alive. I know people say maybe he's not alive because he's on the life support but in my heart I can feel the spirit."
Mandela's condition remains "critical but stable" but the government hopes he will be out of hospital soon, President Jacob Zuma said on Saturday.
