One dead in Egypt clashes
Description
Police opened fire with tear gas and buckshot as the protesters hurled stones.
One student was killed in the clashes, the second to die in as many weeks.
Egypt's security forces have mounted a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood since ousting Islamist President Mohamed Mursi last July.
The demonstrations have intensified over the past week after a court handed down death sentences to more than 500 alleged Brotherhood members in Minya city.
The students are demanding reinstatement of those expelled for membership of the Muslim Brotherhood, or for taking part in the protests.
The violence coincided with the announcement of voting dates for presidential elections.
The polls are due to take place in late May for a contest former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is expected to win easily.
