I’ve had a hard life
Not the hardest I’m sure
I was beaten and bruised
And my life took a detour
I was medicated and misunderstood
I was the problem not the cure
I was analyzed and patronized
No one took me seriously
I had dedicated my life
To pleasing the one who had done this to me
I was a monster in her eyes
A petty way for her display
Her shallow and self centered cries
Just an excuse to run away
To cause me pain in every way
Never was I, never will I
Be good enough for her
The loss of that kind of mother
Is a blessing and a curse
Still just a kid and don’t think
I’ll ever stop the hurt…
But no more will I be a victim
No more will I be like her
No more will I let what she’s done
Continue my detour
