Oke Christopher - Drifting Lover

Once was noted a young man among the youth
He was noisy and in him was a sweet tooth
He loved the lilies and they loved him too
He loved the roses and they loved him too
His way was to gaily approach each flower and learn of her nectar
Then move to the next very soon after
He truly loved them and maybe they did
But it seemed his desire was to learn of everybody in the field
To learn their secrets and their ways
To help them find the sun that made their days
In the times of rain he was their light
Neither could they bear to have him out their sight
Once he found that the roses had thorns
And that hour he showed that his curls concealed horns
They cut him and he deeply felt
His blood an icicle where he knelt
He continued to tend them
And let his revenge be his absence when he left each stem
