Ojo came together sort of by mistake, Steo (Stephen O'Kelly) and Jimbo Dowling were at a mutual friends homecoming session last year and they were all playing tunes and singing away. Steo, being a percussionist, had a Cajone with him and had been playing along with the guitars.
Steo eventually disappeared for a minute or two and arrived back with his Handpan (often refferred to as a hang drum). After being blown away by the magic and melody of the handpan, Jimbo tuned the guitar to suit the scale of it and they immediately started coming up with some ideas.
It was a match made in heaven and after a video recording of them went viral at the start of the year, they got Ojo together and haven't looked back. It's still very early days for them but have big ideas for the band in the near future.
