Odisha Government Appoints New DGP
Description
The Odisha government appointed senior IPS officer Sunil Kumar Bansal as its new Director General (DG) of Police on Wednesday (Dec 15). DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal is a 1987-batch IPS officer who is currently serving as the Special Director Intelligence Bureau (IB) in Mumbai. This comes ahead of the incumbent DGP Abhay’s retirement due on Dec 31, 2021. It is to be noted that the current DGP Abhay is a 1986 batch IPS officer who had taken charge in 2019.
