Occupy The Hood - Occupying While Black Pt. 4

In the fourth installment of my series "Occupying While Black" I talk about the Occupy The Hood movement. Occupy The Hood primarily focuses on issues effecting people of color. Malik, co-founder of Occupy The Hood, said he was inspired began the movement after going to Zuccotti Park and seeing such low minority representation. Occupy The Hood (OTH) is currently active in several American cities such as ATL NYC, Philly and Richmond. Occupy The Hood is an autonomous national grassroots movement they seek to address issues like mass incarceration, homelessness, health care disparities, food security, unemployment, racial profiling and community development. Occupy the hood is inspired by Civil Rights Movement, Black Power Movement, Poor Peoples Campaign, March on Washington and Million Man March, the “Arab Spring Revolt” movement, They do have Facebook and Twitter accounts for those interested in getting involved.
