Occupy Tehran
Description
Chanting "Death to U.S." and "Death to Capitalism" demonstrators circled the Swiss embassy.
SOUNDBITE: Female protester, saying (Farsi):
"We have gathered here to day to support those that have gathered for the Wall Street movement. We have come here in show of support."
Among those joining the protesters, an assistant professor at the University of Tehran, who lived in the U.S. for 24 years.
SOUNDBITE: Foad Izadi, saying (English):
"The U.S. government, the U.S. President are threatening Iran not only economically, but militarily."
Some protesters set the Israeli flag on fire, while they chanted "Death to Capitalism."
The Swiss embassy has represented U.S. interests in Iran since Washington cut off diplomatic relations with Tehran shortly after its 1979 Islamic Revolution.
