Some contorted shape
lost in checkered
light and dark I stay.

In bright spaces
of the shadow,
lit by a waning moon,
stoned eyes stare
at dark moods
that flit through the room.

Seeking images
that memory raises
to confuse
the reality in a song
that was hummed ever
but words
set to its tune never

Today too they tease
those words, which
I never could recall
when they meant more
than now
when they come to call

Its raining
and the sky has turned
a shade of romance.
In room's dim corner,
on a bedspread
of warm embrace
I lie in a trance.

The moon
traversed its course
in an ancient,
medieval pathway.
It sought and hid
its visage away.

Some contorted shape
lost in checkered
light and dark, play.
