Nursing Homes Getting Hit Hard In Florida

Data from the Miami Herald revealed new information about nursing homes and assisted living facilities. It showed that one in every three coronavirus deaths in Florida are related to these places. According to Business Insider, 20 percent of COVID-19 deaths are associated with nursing homes. Nursing homes are more susceptible because of overcrowding and the elederly having weakened immune systems. Despite these numbers, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has re-opened public beaches, retail stores and restaurants.
