"Empire of the Atom" by A. E. van Vogt was first published in 1957. It is a science fiction novel. This and the other four of the author's novels had first appeared in the magazine Astounding.

These stories are called Gods Stories. The rest of these stories are collected in "The Wizard of Linn." According to the author, the Gods stories resembled that of "Claudius" novels by Robert Graves.
