Norway Focuses On Environment
Description
Norway’s $1.4 trillion sovereign wealth fund is the world’s largest. With that kind of investing power, the fund might push companies in which it invests to reduce carbon emissions. Norway’s central bank is looking to “decarbonize” the wealth fund in an effort to protect the environment. Sharing oil and gas revenue with future generations, the wealth fund owns 1.4% of all global stocks, giving it the power to shift the world economy’s focus to greenhouse gas emissions under the Paris Climate Agreement.
