Nivea forgets Israel

Israel was added to the list of countries the Nivea skin product company sells its merchandise to after an Israeli blogger complained. The blogger took fault with the company for failing to list Israel on its Web site, but noted the Palestinian territories and other Middle East countries appeared. Beiersdorf who owns the Nivea brand responded by adding Israel to the list, but linked it to an empty co.il site. When questioned, the company explained there was no marketing platform it could direct customers to. Further examination revealed that there was no link for the Palestinian territories, Kuwait and Lebanon. Instead, there is a general site for Middle Eastern countries in English and Arabic. Alpa Cosmetics who represent Nivea in Israel noted that the company's international site lists only 80 of the 150 countries it sells Nivea products to.
