NIPSS Alumni Call for Decentralised, Intelligence-Driven Policing Reform

The Alumni Association of the National Institute has called for a major overhaul of Nigeria’s policing system, advocating a decentralised, intelligence-driven, and community-based approach to address the country’s worsening insecurity.

The resolution was reached at the association’s 46th Annual General Meeting and National Colloquium, where stakeholders agreed that reforming policing structures is critical to achieving sustainable national security in Nigeria.
