Sean e Christian, cuja tarefa é contribuir para que seus pacientes encontrem paz de espírito através de procedimentos estéticos, conhecem bem de perto os louros da fama. Ambos vivem a crise dos 40 e embora seus pacientes tentem mascarar seus problemas realizando cirurgias plásticas, são eles que, na verdade, escondem uma vida repleta de angústia, infelicidade e desilusão. Sean e Christian questionam ter muito pouco diante de uma prosperidade que parecia ter oferecido tudo.
