Nio & Tencent Partner
Description
Chinese companies Tencent ($TCEHY@China) and Nio ($NIO@China) have agreed to work together on areas including autonomous driving and high-definition mapping. The electric vehicle maker’s partnership with Tencent will give it the technology backing of one of China’s biggest firms. The tech giant is already a major investor in Ni. The move comes after e-commerce firm Alibaba ($BABA@China) and Nio competitor Xpeng ($XPEV@China) opened a computer center in August to train software for driverless cars.
