Across the green meadows she flies
her voice a sweet lullaby
her wings carry her across the lands
over the rivers the golden sand

she catches the eye of a hunter one day
he wants to trap her in any way
he takes away her greatest prize
she loses her freedom each day she cries

her wings can no longer carry her around
alone in a cage she makes no sound
now all day she looks up at the sky
another moment a little she dies
