Night Sky - Leave

My heart wrenched.
You watched me walk
straight out the door,
not once turning back.
A single tear slipped down my cheek.
Together we were like a spark and wood
waiting to burst into flames.
The fire burned for five long years.
You were the reason
I cried myself to sleep at night.
Time flew when compassion died.
You broke me into a million pieces.
I’m all glued back together now.
The pieces have been picked up.
On the cold lonely nights
the fire still burns inside
