2043. Dans un futur totalitaire, Nissa vit à l’écart du monde avec sa fille, terrifiée à l’idée de croiser les forces armées. Un jour, contrainte de l’emmener en ville pour la faire soigner, elle assiste impuissante à son enlèvement. Désespérée, elle se lance à sa recherche, et découvre l’impensable. Depuis dix ans, le gouvernement kidnappe tous les enfants pour les enrôler dans l’Académie, une milice parallèle à la solde de l’état. Dans l’espoir de libérer sa fille, elle intègre un groupe d’insurgés qui prépare un assaut d’envergure contre l’armée…
