Nigeria protesters killed

Thousands of Nigerians joined protest marches like this across the country in the growing wave of anger over the ending of fuel subsidies.
President Goodluck Jonathan is the target of their anger.
Axing the subsidy to cut costs and encourage investment in local refining is one of the president's flagship policies.
The move has triggered protests like this one in Lagos, and a nationwide indefinite strike.
Jonathan says he won't back down.
These protesters seem equally convinced they have a point.
SOUNDBITE: Chris John, telecommunications worker, saying (English):
"They think that we are foolish but we are not. We are responsible Nigerians and we are speaking our minds and our mind is this: they need to reverse the fuel price."
At least two people were shot dead by police during the mass protests.
Fellow demonstrators were shocked.
SOUNDBITE: Lukmon Bakare, shop worker, saying (English):
"The police shot someone who is not a thief and, on a good day, he is a citizen of this Nigeria."
SOUNDBITE: Dickson Olaifa, student and estate consultant, saying (English):
"We are going to sue them (the police) for what they have done today.."
More than two dozen other people were wounded during Monday's round of protests as police fired live ammunition and tear gas to break up the crowds.
