Description
Comics are not to be imagined as not existing in our everyday life. They meet us in films, computer games, advertisement, influence fashion and design and they belong to the cultural self-image of young people. For the first time there is a comic festival in European format in Austria.
The cultural capital of Linz09 offers the ideal frame for such a festival.
nextComic festival complements both festivals of Linz, Ars Electronica and Crossing Europe, with the medium drawing as a base for animation and film. Already in the approach the nextComic festival is directed with an international comic competition at professionals and at young ambitious comic designers The prizewinners are presented within the scope of the opening solemnly.
