NewsX@9: BJP's double standards
Description
NewsX@9 is a NewsX special show which debates the main news event of the day. The BJP all set to make Nitin Gadkari the president for an unprecedented second term in the party's 32-year history. The party notified the election commission that nominations will be filed on 23rd January. But Gadkari may not have a cakewalk. Talking to NewsX, BJP's dissident leader Mahesh Jethmalani hinted that he could contest as Gadkari's opponent. So we debate today- Can BJP claim to be clean when it nominates tainted Gadkari as party President? Can BJP cry "dynastic politics" when it has its own mini-dynasties? Can BJP call Cong 'undemocratic' when its own President is hand-picked by the RSS? We debate this on the show and try to evolve consensus among our panelists over the issue. Watch this NewsX debate special show NewsX@9.
