ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) spokesman Fawad Chaudhry lambasted former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry for his alleged role in rigging 2013 elections on the behest of Nawaz Sharif.
During his news conference on Monday, Fawad Chaudhry claimed that Iftikhar Chaudhry signed up a contract in which Nawaz Sharif guaranteed him the post of president for rigging the general elections of 2013.
“After the failed attempt of introducing Reham Khan to malign PTI, Iftikhar Chaudhry is up against Imran Khan over again and working on Raiwind’s agenda,” he said.
PTI spokesman urged National Accountability Bureau to take notice of the embezzlement cases of billions of rupees involving Iftikhar Chaudhry and his son Arsalan Chaudhry.
Presenting his views about the conduct of upcoming elections, he commented that the progress of interim government is very slow with regard to electoral process, “it should expedite the procedure of changing administrations in Sindh and Punjab, as the set up is still being governed by the loyalists of former governments in either province,” he added.
Fawad Chaudhry criticized the delaying tactics of former premier Nawaz Sharif in corruption cases against him in a bid to escape castigation. PTI leader termed Nawaz Sharif a national criminal for allegedly laundering 300 billion rupees from Pakistan.
