HYDERABAD: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested the prime suspect who allegedly fired shots at Dr Naushad, the slain sector-in-charge of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).

Police identified the suspect as Shahid Abbasi alias Shahid Dancer who sprayed the MQM-P official with bullets on Hali Road as he got off his car.

The suspect’s identity was made after combing through CCTV footage of the incident, police officials said.

On Oct 25, the assailants riding a motorbike opened fire at the MQM-P activist near Rashid Bahayya Park within the jurisdiction of Gulshan Halinagar Police Station and sped away from the scene.
