PESHAWAR: Calling on the masses to descry the future consequences of Panamagate report, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday implied the probe aiming to mar the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), ARY News reported.

Addressing a ceremony here he alleged that the sole purpose of the Panama Papers scandal was to disrupt the ongoing CPEC projects.

Deploring the Panamagate investigation, he queried the motive behind it as what he said: “I could not understand the objective of this investigation whether it aimed to eliminate corruption, punish Nawaz Sharif, or to cause political uncertainty in the country.”

The politico-religious leader asserted that the premier has not established his business empire recently, if the probe was conducted to evaluate Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s asserts.
