New device to help with rescues

South Africa has some of the deepest mines in the world, reaching up to 3000 metres underground. This means it’s often complicated to rescue workers, should the need arise. Now, Mines Rescue Services has come up with a one-of-a kind device that hoists down a cage into these deep shafts. eNCA’s Lindokuhle Xulu joined the Mineral Resource Department in putting the invention to the test.
