Netanyahu calls for talks with Palestinians

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president is on a diplomatic charm offensive at the United Nations. He is looking for support for his bid to get full membership for a Palestinian state.

His delegation claims an offer from the Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, office to meet in person later this week to relaunch "direct negotiations".
