Nerissa Morton - Judging
0 Views • Jun 13, 2014
Description
Some of us know the plantiff,
Others have been blackmailed or bribed,
The defendant, for all we care, is guilty
We don't care for what they have to say,
As we all believe the plantiff
Everyday, lots of people go through a similar courtroom
These courtrooms have no walls locking us in
No judge,
No lawyers
But it never runs out on jury members;
Plantiffs or defendants
We automatically assume ones innocence or guilt based on the plantiff's description
We listen to one side and that is it
The defendant could've been innocent,
Or have changed their ways
But being the jury we are,
That is just classed as speculation
There are few in our jury that say,
'Hey! Give them a chance! '
Soon after;
They too get turned into a helpless defendant
Give people a chance
They may have changed
They might not have done what you have been told
Everyone is entitled to a free trial;
So give people theirs.
